Before you register for this event, understand there
are NO REFUNDS.
We understand circumstances can
prevent you from racing, such as work schedules,
emergencies and injuries so we offer transfers of
your paid entry until June 9, 2012.
We will not be
able to accommodate ANY circumstances after that
date.
For
liability protection on behalf of the race
organizers and for you, the participant, the event
insurer, USA Triathlon (USAT), requires EVERYONE
pick up their own race packet, show picture ID, show
a current USAT annual license or sign a
waiver/one-day license. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will not
be allowed to race if you do not pick up your packet
prior to the race and show up race day. NO RACE DAY
packet pick up.
Radiant Lake is located in Rathdrum, Idaho. It is a
private community with its own man-made lake.
The
lake is fed with fresh aquifer water and has sandy
shores and bottom. It is shallow so it warms faster
than the larger area lakes making for the perfect
early season triathlon.
The Radiant Lake development is happy to host this
triathlon and share their community’s lifestyle with
you.
Distance:
Sprint-1/2 mile swim-14.4 mile bike-3.1 mile run
Location:
Radiant Lake is located just of Hwy 41 and Nagel Rd.
in Rathdrum, Idaho. Rathdrum is
approximately 10 miles north of Coeur d Alene.
Race Start:
9:00 AM (Wave start-waves will depend on number of
participants)
Start time may be affected by Union Pacific train
schedule.
General Info:
Participants will receive a short sleeve technical
shirt, a swim cap, after race drinks, snacks and
sandwiches provided by San Francisco Sourdough.
There will be an aid station with water and GU Brew in transition and on the run course.
Lake temperature should be approx. 63 degrees,
weather depending. Wetsuits are recommended for
warmth but aren’t required. No additional flotation
devices are allowed. The lake is 8 feet deep in the
middle, however it is narrow so the sandy bottom
slopes to shallow the entire course. Participants
may stand up if needed but may not advance the
course on the shore.
Transition will open at 7AM and must be set up by
8:45 AM. Transition will close to everyone at this
time. Transition will not open again until all
runners have started on the course.
The mandatory pre-race meeting will be at 8:45 AM
next to the transition area.
The bike course will be open to vehicles with
intersections controlled by flaggers. Cyclists must
stay to the right and be aware of vehicles passing.
Vertical Earth Bike Shop will provide tech support
at the beginning of the race near transition and
during the bike portion. You are responsible to have
your bike in good condition for the race.
Bike helmets with chinstraps secured must be worn
while on the bike. Mountain bikes, hybrids,
tri-bikes and road bikes are allowed. No tandem or 3
wheel bikes.
The minimum age to participate is 10 yrs old by Dec.
31, 2012.
Entry fees:
There are no processing fees for online
registration.

If you are unable to race, you
may transfer your entry to some else. The transfer
must be completed by race officials no later than
4PM, June 9, 2012. No transfers or changes will be
processed on race day.
Packet Pickup/Late
Registration: Packet pickup will
be at
Radiant Lake,14097 North Pristine Circle on Saturday, June
9 from 11AM to 4PM.It is MANDATORY THAT YOU PICK UP YOUR OWN PACKET ON
SATURDAY AND SHOW PICTURE ID. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO
SHOW YOUR USAT LICENSE OR COMPLETE THE ONE DAY
LICENSE FORM. You will receive your timing chip and
numbers, swim cap, etc. We can insure everything is
correct for you to race the next morning. You can
also survey the course, parking transition, etc.
Course: Transition will be
near the corner of Pristine Circle and Treasure
island. The start
will be a deep-water start next to transition. (The
lake is shallow on the edges so you may stand).
Waves will be posted before the race. Buoys will
line the out and back swim course, which is approx.
½mile total. Spectators will have good visibility of
the swimmers over the entire course.

The bikes leave
transition to the west on Pristine Circle than north Ohio St., right on Boekel
Rd to Ramsey Rd. Right on Ramsey to Lancaster, right
on Lancaster to Huetter, left on Huetter, right on
Hayden, right on Meyer to Majestic. Flaggers will
hold traffic for this left turn. Left on Pristine
Circle back to transition. All roads are paved and
in good condition.

The run is
relatively flat. Spectators will be able to see
runners everywhere on the course.

Parking:
Event parking will at the corner of Nagel and Ohio
St for all spectators and athletes.

Awards:
Awards be given to the overall man and overall women
and the top 3 finishers in each division for
individuals and top 2 teams in each category. The
award ceremony will start at approx. 11 AM. There
will be drawings for giveaways for those present.
Divisions:
Age Group - 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,
35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 &
over.
Athena’s (150 lbs.+) - 39 years and under
(open) and 40 years and older (master). Clydesdale
(200 lbs +) -39 years and under (open) and 40 years
and older (master)
